The dislocation of the ordinary arrange

ments for the despatch of ihe outward

English mail, occasioned by the non arrival of the Nebraska, will be remedied as far as possible by the Government. Arrangements have been made by which either the Albion or the Tararua will be despatched with the New Zealand mails in time to catch the Suez steamer, which leaves Melbourne on the 10th, according to the time-table, but possibly not before the !20th or 21st. " The Tarama is now overdue at Hokitikn, and supposing her to arrive to-day or to-morrow there is ample time for her to collect the mails and reach Melbourne in time. The Albion will no doubt, as an extra precaution, take an English mail from Wellington, so that between the two boats there is little doubt of the mails catching the Suez boat. Should the Nebraska not have arrived when the City of Mcl-

bourne reaches Auckland from Sydney,

it is probable that if that steamer is in a condition to do it she will be despatched I to Honolulu with such mails as may be

ready for America and Europo by that

route. The impression is gaining ground that some serious accident has occurred to tho Nebraska, and so far as we have any information it may have occurred on her last voynge from Auckland to Honolulu. Should the delay in her appearance continue much longer, it would be desirable to despatch some steamer in search, and probably the Government will assist the agents of the steamer in such a work. The Postmaster-G-eneral will, however, be in town to-morrow or next day, and no doubt he will make every possible arrangement to further the convenience of the public.
