William Clout, for driving down the wharf at a gallop, was fined 5s and costs. ABUSIVE lANGUAGE. Isaac W. Lovelock wna charged with using threatening and abusive language towards a polico constable in the execution of his duty, and was fined 10s with costs 6s Gd, or in default 49 hours' imprisonment. ASSAULT. The same defendant was charged with ussault. The defendant was assaulting a boy, and when remonstrated with by nn officer oi police turned very abusire. Ho was fined 10s with 6s 6d costs, or in default 43 hours. DRUNK AND INCAPABM. Thoinaa Maeaulay, who gnve the name of John Brown, refusing to disclose his real patronimio when aslred to do so by the Bench, was fined 10s, or in default 21 hours' imprisonment. DRUNK AND DISORDERLY. Thomns Campbell for this offence was Cned ss, or in default 24. hours' imprisonment. CIVII. CASKS. Ebden v Tandy — Claim of £10 for goods supplied to Ihe defendant, part owner of the Mosquito. — William Ebflen, denier : T know t lie defondant, who called upon me in November last Riid bought some goods, which I delivered on the wharf to lna order. I did not see him again until two days after the wreck of tho Mosquito, when I met him on ihe beach in Wellington, nud ho said the goods were on the ialand (Knpiti). Ho afterwards returaed portions of ihe goods to sny place.— Cross examined : I never said tho goods were for Langley at tho Manawatu, and that Mr Tandy was not to leave the goods unless ho got tho cash for them. — George Tandy, defendant : I am part owner of the Mosquito. I saw Mr EbJon, who came to me one evening about six o'clock, aboui. the time they were loading for the last trip. This was threo day* before the vessel sailed, Ho asked mo whether I would fake the goods on the same terms as before. I eaid no, I did not care about that, and he then said " Well, you can take them up, and if Langiey pays you for the goods you can deduct your freight." A. man named Pressman was present at this time I told him that as the goods were for Langley I conld not take them for a day or two, as they would haTe to go into the hold last to come out first at Langley's. When I was ready for tho goods I went up to Ebden's place, and ho showed me some brandy, cheeso, and sherry for Langley. I said " Very well, wo can put thorn into tho cabin, and if they are not Bold they would not take up much room, and we could bring them back in the cabin. When tho goods wore put on board they werocloarod as goods for him.— Charles Pressman corroborated the defendant's case— Captain Pierco proved the receipt of tho goods alongside the vessel as being for Langley, Manawatu. They were so cntorod in tho manifest. When tho vessel was wreckod tho goods were very much damaged, and on my arrival in Wellington I noted my protest. — Judgment was givon for defendant, with costs. Tnino v Townsend — Claim for rent. Dofandant admitted tho debt, but stated that he was unable to pay it until his crops wero
