MAINTENANCE OF ROADS.
Councillor Buckley asked why the motion introduced by him. and passed by tho Council, with reference to the maintenance of the main roads, had not been carried into effect;. Ho knew that there were people waiting to do the work, because they had aeon that tho resolution was carried, and it would bo advantageous to their interests that the work should bo done at the present time. He would movo that tho motion passed at a former meeting be carried into effect. : — "That tenders be called for for keopiug in repair the main lines of road through tho city." Councillor Millar seconded tho motion, which was carried. PllilU STREET. Councillor Milli:k asked whether anything had been done towards forming Pirie street P The Surveyor replied that nothing had been done. Councillor MinLF.it paid he had to mention the bad condition oi' the drain at the back of the Kojai Tiger. He had complaints brought to him ovory day about the dangerous condition of this drain. The matter droppod. ASSISTANCE TO THE SURVEYOR. The Surveyor was requested to report by next meeting what, assistance ho would require in the preparation of plans, Sec, for the water works. Tho Council then adjourned:
