Sir, — I observe fchafc improvem 3nts are to be made in the arrangements for tho fete of 1872, chit fly with regard to fcho betfcer accommodation of the competitors in the games. This, of course, is a step in fche right direction, bufc I think the public, who constituto fche " gathering, " and patiently stand outside tho circle during the long day, havo also strong claims to consideration.

Whenever a lull occurs in the professional sports, and the inexhaustible band continues to play, ifc is usual to form small circles aboufc tho grounds, and fche holiday- makors attempt to dance on fche green under tho most trying circumstances ; fcho crush of spectators around them, tho unevenness of the ground, and the dusfc under foot rendering their efforts afc pleasure in this direotion tho reverse of enjoyable. Terpsichore has ever been in high favor upon theso occasions, both wifch tho porformers and the lookers on, as shown abovo ; and I thought lasfc year, and still think, that tho games in tho arena might be brought to an end afc aboufc five o'clock, and fcho outside publio rewarded for their patient; attendance by being allowed to use the stage upon which the great feats of the day have been performed for tho purposo of dancing for on hour or two, ncn*dancers fco remain outside the ring. This would oho vastly increaso tho general fun, and would be a very good finale of tho day's amusement;. I hopo tho committee will give my suggestion special consideration, and oven provide a larger stage with smooth boards, for the benefit of tho dancers, as I am certain that this would prove a popular measure. — I am, &c, " Oliday Hout."
