At 700 yards Walker made 37, Christie 3G. Christie's first two shots at 800 yards were centres; Walker's, outers — Christie made 34, Walker 31. Walker's first shot at 900 yards was a miss ; Christie's, a bull's eye. Christie's next four shots were three bulls' eyes and a centre ; Walker's, a centre and three bulls' eyea. At this range Christie's total was 36 ; Walker's, 98. At 1000 yards the scores were: Walker, 3332-133394 -— 30; Christie, 4333323303 — 27. Walker thus won by five points. Christie's miss at 1000 yards lost him the match, asottjtev^rpoint Walker was only one anefli% The* shooting throughout was splendid, and the excitement was intense. Nelson, Tuesday. Arrived — Taranaki, from Picton; Sailed — Kennedy, for Westport. Lyttelton, Tuesday. Arrived — Indus, from Newcastle. Port Chalmers, Tuesday. The Phoebe was taken into the graving dock to day. She will be out on Tuesday.
