Te Kooti has disappeared, but it is confidently believed that he was wounded in the struggle with CJreweras, and his men have all left him. 2.55 p.m. From the fact of Te Kooti's men all coming in it is considered not improbable that he has been captured by, or given himself up to Urewera, who will probably hand him over to Government, being jealous of Ropata. Taranaki, Wednesday. The s.s. Tnranaki arrived in New Plymouth roadstead at 7.30 a.m. She was to leave for. Nelson at 9 a.m. The Phoebe was in sight, and was to leave for Wellington direct at 10 a.m. Greville's special courier, conveying the San Francisco telegrams, left New Plymouth for Opunake at 8.30 a.m. and arrived at 2.55 p.m. Auckland, Sunday Mr Mackay has received a telegram from Cambridge to the effect that the King has conseuted to the construction of the telegraph line to Ohinemuri. Mr Mackay and Dr Pollen will proceed to Ohinemuri at once, to conclude arrangements. The bottom level of the Caledonian has been touched, and the mine is improving.
