By the arrival of the barque Anne Melhuish, and by the courtesy of her commander, Captain Williams, we are in receipt of Newcastle' and Sydney papers to Ihe 2Gth ultimo, containing news of the arrival of the Suez mail. The Balelutha, arrived at Glenelg that morning, at ten o'clock, with the news of the English mail via Suez. The li.M.S. Rangoon, reached the Sound on Monday, after making a very rapid passage from Galle, and brings telegraphic intelligence to the 7th inst The troop-ship Megasra reached the Capo of Good Hope safely and left again for Australia, but was lost on the voyage. The details have not as yet come to hand,. The orow were saved. Conference on colonial affairs commenced at London on July 19th, under the highest auspices; the Duke of Manchester presided. The Pope is indisposed. M. Thiers threatens his resignation of the presidency of the French republic. The wool sales closed with great firmness, 213,000 bales were sold. The Feuiau rioting in Dublin has been suppaessed, A bank cashier has been murdered in Ireland, and a large amount of money was stolen. The Government have abandoned the intended autumn encampment of the army and volunteers. Tallow is easier. Hides dearer. Colonial securities have advanced. Consols, 03 £ Dr. Dollinger has been elected rector of the Munich University. The Duke of Richmond has carried a vote of censure on the Government. Lord Ashbrook is dead. The future prospects of the Wool Market are highly favorable to growers. Two-thirds of the late sales of wool have been taken for export. The Government have been in communication with the French authorities respecting transportation to Now Caledonia. Ensign Humphrey won the Queen's prize at Wimbledon. Rev. — Jones elected President of the'Wcsleyan Conference. The Spanish Ministry has resigned. Th'.ers announces his intention to aid in preserving the Pope's independence. Germany has received a considerable portion of the war indemnity from France. Prince Arthur has been created Duke of Ulster. Bismai'ck promises to evacuate the environs of Paris at the end of October. The Spanish Ministry has resigned. Jules Favre has retired from the French Ministry, on the question of assistance to the temporal power of tho Pope. The Czar of Puissia has created the Crown Prince of Saxony a Marshal in the Russian Army. The month's exports to Australia are the heaviest known for years : the increase is general to all the colonies.
