Q Auckland.— The " Herald" of August 2 says : — The Southerners are rushing this market too rapidly ■with their produce, especially haras and bacon, and cheese, and we would advise caution in every respect, as the local production is calculated to counteract any demard for imports, and that, therefore, they only Bubject themsolves and others to a serious loss. "Very great caution ought also to be exorcised in the shipment of grain, epecially as regarde quality, for this market otfers at present, seed time, only a sufficient margin on the finest samples of wheat, oats, and barley. The market values of goods remain without change, and nothing has transpired worthy of notice since last week. The Honolulu sugars are clearing out, notwitstanding the prognostications to tho contrary. The Success, took away for Norfolk Island, 24,000 feet of timber. Kaiapoi. — The exports from Kaiapoi for the month ending July 31, 1871, wero 9587 bushels wheat, 17,919 do onts, 2435 do barley, 86 bales wool, 30 pockets do, 403 do flax, 98J- tons potatoes, 280 bushels grass seed, 31 kegs butter, 7 do lard, 66 casks tallow, 122 cases do, 3 bales sheepskins, 2 tons cheese, 24 bushels beans, 19 bags crushed beaus, 30 enses mutton hams, 5 tons and 75 bags bran, 6 tons and 31 bags barley meal, 156 bushels peas, 148 pieces bacon, 1 case eggs, 4 coiis rope, 4 sack 8 tares. The registered tonuage of vessels inwards was 1247 tons. Wool Sales at Beblin. — The Berlin Exchange Gazette says tho inteniim is entertained in Berlin of making large purchases of foreign wools, particularly from Australia, the Capo, and Buenos Ayres, and then disposing of them by regular auctions, according to the system pursued in London and Antwerp. Caledonian, £195 ; Thames, £37 15s ; Tokatea, No. 2, Is 6d to Is 9d. Very few buyers for any stock, excopt the last, of which large parcels have changed hands. Mr Saunrlers reports sales this dny. — Cale(lonian, £195; Long Drive, £12; Bright Smile, 40s and 41s ; Kelly, £4 10s j Tokatea, £4 ss. Market dull ; prices lower. Mr Edgar W.
