Alhambra 14 England 43 — Loehlee ... ... ... 11 83 Edinburgh Castle S3 104 By the above list it will be observed that our shipments for the season amount to 'ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-SEVEN PACKAGES OF DRAPERY, CLOTHING, &o, Being by far the most extensive hitherto imported to Wellington by any retail house iv one season. THE SOLE REASON WHY WE HAVE IMPORTED SO LARGELY THIS SEASON was owing to the inducement held out to our buyers by ihe unsettled state of the markets, in consequenco of Continental difficulties, and TAKING ADVANTAGE OF A FAVORABLE OPPORTUNITY, and buying largely. In many instances we have been enabled to save fifty per cent on former prices, or, in other words, to buy at HALF PRICE, and in no case less than TWENTY PER CENT, lower thnn last year. Of this our customers shall have the full benefit. In an advertisement of this sort wo cannot give details, but will note a few of the special lines, which no family should be without, as the price is very little over one-half of that hitherto charged in Wellington for the same class of goods. CLOTHING AND HOSIERY DEPARTMENT. In this department we have taken especial care to secure a stock of Goods, combining fashion and durability, with the requirements of the season, for instance — 400 men's Somerville shirts, at Is lid each 300 soft twill allicant cloth, at 4a 6& each 500 all-wool Crimean shirts, standard patterns and colors, 7a 6d 1000 super Crimean shirts, including crepe, cricketing twills, French printed wools, Scotch tartans, &c, at 9s Gd each Men's wool pants, undershirts, mufflers, cashmere squares, flannel shirts and ecar&j ties, braces, belts, gloves, handkerchiefs, carpet and courier bags, &c IN CLOTHING, J". MD. & CO. are showing an entirely new stock, the greater portion of which has been made to their own order.
