The Mayor said the reason tho matter was referred to the City Council was because tho Provincial Secretary wished to have their opinion in tho matter. There was only one clause he objected to, which was tho ono asking permission to carry material across tho wharf free of charge. But there was an advantage connected witli tho matter, because tho portion of the wharf whoro it was proposed to moor tho dock wa3 now of little use on account of tho limited space round tho store, and tho company proposed to erect a stage 10 feet wide outside the wharf, of which the public would have the free übo. • The consideration of the proposition was postponed, notice of motion being givon that tho mattor should bo brought beforo tho n^xt mooting. ACCOUNTS. The accounts passed for payment amounted to £3-19 3s 9d. The ovord raft at tho bank was stated to be £71 3s 6d. Accounts paid since last meeting, £27 12s 3d.
