Fare to England via California.— Tho " San Francisco Bulletin" says : — " By the Australian Bteamer of Webb's lino which oiiled on Wednesday, ivstructions were s?nt to the company's agent iv New Zealand to issue first-class tickets from Auckland to Liverpool for 5367. This sum will pay for a first-class passage to this port, a first- class railroad ticket to Now York, and a first- cabin ticket by any of the five lines of prominent steamships from the latter port to England. The fare by tho Peninsular and Oriental route aud its connection from New Zealand to Liverpool is $440 Tho passenger will there- , fore save §73 in gold by taking tho American route, while he will also make one of tho most extensive, varied, nnd magnificent trips which the world affords. Tho trip includes the breadth of the entire American continent, and its chief cities, with a view of some of the grandest scenery in the world. Passengers can break the trip for as long a period as they please at this city, from which they can make tho trip to the world-renowned Yosemite Valley and back for §44. The cost of second-class passage by the English routo between Auckland and England is §350, while by the American route it is but $294. No steerage passengers are carried by the P. and O. mail steamer, but they are taken by tho American line for the extremely low price of $166. The distance from Auckland to to San Francisco is 5900 miles ; to Now York, by the Pacific railroad, is 3300 miles ; and from the latter point to Liverpool is 3200 ; making a total distance of 12,400 miles. The schedule time for the through trip is 52 days. Tho time now occupied in making the trip by the English route, via Melbourne, is 57 days. The American trip has therefore advantage iv point of timo, and great advantages in ltsened cost of travel, in comfort, variety, and pleasure." Colonial Agents in London. — The " Anglo Australian" of the " European Mail" mentions that the agents for tho colonies are receiving more and more notice from the Colonial Office. Lord Kiraberley had invited all the ugents-general to his state dinner on May 20, in honor of tho Quoen's birthday.
