TO CONTRACTORS. rTIHE Telegraph Commissioner is prepared X to receive Tenders for the Supply and delivery of TWO THOUSAND (2000) TELEGRAPH POLES, to bo delivered at the Telegraph Stores, Wellington. Tenders will be accepted for one thousand or tho whole. The poles to bo sawn from the heart of totara. The poles to bo of the following dimensions :— Twenty-five (25) and twenty (20) feet long, to be eight (8) inches square at the butt, and six (6) inches square at the top. Five per cent of the number required will have to be 25 foot long. The poles to be sound, straight, and free from shakes, knots, and sap. N.B. — No pole will be accepted wldch contains the least sap or speckled timber. Tenderers arc to specify tho price per polo ns per sizes given, and tho time that will be required for completing the contract. Each tender to be accompanied by a deposit of twenty-five pounds (£25) as a guarantee of good faith, which sum will bo forfeited by any tenderer should he refuse to take up his tender in the event of its being accepted. Each tender must include the names of two sureties for approval, who are willing to become bond for the duo performance of the contract, in the event of the tender being accepted, and must bo accompanied by a notific ition to that effect, signed by tho two proposed sureties. Tenders endorsed " Tenders for the supply of one thousand (1000) or two thousand (2000) poles," as the case may be, and addressed "Tho General Manager, Telegraph Department, Wellington," must be sent in not later than the 10th July next. Tenders must state the price per 100 feet as per sizes given, and the time that will be required for completing the contract.
