[PEfl GBEVILLE'S TEI/. CO., EEUXEU'S AGENTS.] Hokitika, Friday. No alterations have taken place in prices since last telegram. Breadstuff's are firmer and hams and bacon easier. Timaeu, Friday. A large meeting was held last night, the Mayor presiding. Resolutions were passed unanimously in favor of a memorial to the Government showing that the £7,000 voted for harbor improvements is still lying unexpended in the hands of the Board of Works ; also, asking the Government to instruct the Marine Engineer to report on the practicability of carrying out the works for the roadstead. A resolution in favor of petitioning the Assembly to pass an amended act to restrict the spending of the sum apportioned under the act of 1867 to harbor works only, and in the event of the Board failing to carry out the work within six months, tho Government to have power to appoint Commissioners was also agreed.
