PICTON: loth, 3.20 a.m. — Taranaki, from Nelson. 15th, 8.30 a.m.— Taranaki, for Wellington. The s.s, Taranaki, E. Wheeler, commander, arrived in harbor at 1.30 p.m. yesterday, from the North. She reports having left Onehunga at 3 p.m. on the 12fch instant ; anchored off Taranaki at 7.30 a.m. the following day; sailed at noou, and arrived at Nelson at 5 a.m. on the 14th ; sailed twelve hours later, camo through the French Pass at 8.15 p.m., and arrived at Picton at 3 a.m. on tho loth ; sailed at 8.30 p.m., and arrived as above ; from llanukau to Nelson strong westerly gales with heavy sea ; thence to Jackson's Head fine clear Weather, followed by a dense fog ; stopped the engines for two hours ; from Picton to Wellington light winds and fine weather. The barque Heversham, from Newcastle, fourteen days out, with a cargo of coals, was signalled yesterday afternoon. The s.B. Ilangatira is due from the South on Saturday, and will leave here for Napier on Monday next. The s.s. Gothenburg is due from the South either on Sunday or Monday. She will eail again for Melbourne via the West Coast. The s.s. Lord Ashley is duo from Auckland and Napier on Tuesday, and will leave for the South the same day. The s.s. Ahuriri arrived at the Manukau on the 14th inst, and is due here from Northern ports about the 19th. The s.s. Taranaki will sail for the South this afternoon. Tho Al clipper barque Anna, 14<1< tons register, Captain J. A. Thompson, was advertised to Icavo Melbourne for this port on or about the Ist June. A great portion of her cargo woe engaged ; and it was expected she would leave about her advertised time. The brigantine Ladybird, hence, arrived in Newcastle on the 25th ult. The brig Lady Denison, Captain Fernie, was to leave Hobson's Bay for Wanganui during the first week in June. AUCKLAND SHARE MARKET. Mr Tonson Garlick reports sales this day as follow : — Caledonian, £175 ; Thames, £36 ; Belfast, £6 10s ; Nebraska. 15s ; Golden Lion, 15s; North Devon, 455 ; Tookey, £27 ; Alburnia, £13, Tookey in demand j held for a higher figure. Mr Edgar W. Walker reports share market active. He has sold Caledonian at £175 ; Thames, £36; Whau, £3 7s Gd ; North Devon, 47s 6d ; Nebraska, 83 ; Tookey, £26 j Alburnia, £13. Buyers, Tookey, Belfast, and Poverty and Charleston, at fair rates.
