Government Notices. TO CONTRACTORS. THE TELEGRAPH COMMISSIONER is prepared to receive Tenders for the supply and delivery of Five Thousand (5000) TELEGRAPH ARMS, as follows:— The arms to be cut from tho heart of Rata, and to be delivered at. the ToJegrnph Stores, Wellington, within three (3) months from the date of siguing the contract. Each tender must be accompanied by a deposit of £10 as a guarantee of good faith, which sum will be forfeited should any tenderer refuse to take up his tender in the event of its being accepted. Each tender must include the names of two sureties for approval, who are willing to become bond for tho duo performance of the contract in the event of the tender being accepted ; and must be accompanied by n notification to that effect, signed by the proposed sureties. Patterns can bo seen, and further particulars obtained at the Telegraph Ofliccs, Wellington. Tenders addressed " The General Manager New Zealand Telegraph, Wellington," and endorsed " Tenders for Telegraph Arms," to be sent in not latei than tho 20th June next. Between the Manukau and Picton, calling at Taranaki and Nelson, and back to the Manukau by the sinnu route, once every four weeks. 2. Between Nelson nnd Hokitika, calling at Westport and Greymouth, and back to Nelson by tho suma route, once every four weeks. Tho names, tonnage, and horse-power of tho ves?ols proposed to bo employed to bo stated, and the vessels to be approved by tho Post-master-General, and to be surveyed by some person appointed by him whenever ho may consider it necessary. A proper and secure room to be provided for the Mails, and all Mailp, excepting at Taranaki, to be landed and shipped by and at the expense of the contractor. The days nnd hours of arrival and departure at nnd from the various ports to be fixed by the Postmaster-Genorul, who shall also have the power of detaining the vessels, it necessary, for forty-eight hours after the clue date of the San Francisco Muils at Auckland aud Nelson, without ulmrgo ; for any further detention the rate of demurrage per diem to bo stated. Service No. 1 to commence ut the Manukau on the arrival of the Mail Steamer Nevada at Auckland about the 22nd of June proximo ; and Service No. 2 to commence at Nclfon on the arrival of the steamer performing Service No. 1.
