Government Notices. TO CONTRACTORS. THE TELEGRAPH COMMISSIONER is prepared to receive Tenders for the supply and delivery of Five Thousand (SOOO) TELEGRAPH ARMS, as follows :— The arms to bo cut from the heart of Rata, and to be delivered at tho Telegraph Stores, Wellington, within threo (3) months from the date of signing the contract. Each tender must bo accompanied by a deposit of £10 as a guarantee of good faith, which sum will be forfeited should any tenderer refuse to take up his tender in tho event of its being accepted. Each tender must include the names of two sureties for approval, who are willing to become bond for the due performance of the contract in the event of the tender being accepted ; and must be accompanied by a notification to that effect, sigued by tlie proposed sureties. Patterns can be scon, and further particulars obtained at the Telegraph Offices, Wellington. Tenders addressed " The General Managor New Zealand Telegraph, Wellington," and endorsed " Tenders for Telegraph Arms," to be sent in not latet than the 20th June next. TENDERS will bo received at tho General Post-office, Wellington, till tho 15th June proximo, for fche performance of the undermentioned Steam Mail Services : — 1. Between the Manukau and Picton, calling afc Taranaki and Nelson, and back to tho Manukau by the samo route, once overy four weeks. 2. Between Nelson and Hokitika, calling at Westport and Greymouth, and back to Nelson by the same routo, onco every four woeks. The names, tonnage, and horse-power of the vessels proposed to bo employed to bo stated, and the vessels to bo approved by the Post-master-General, and to be surveyed by some person appointed by him whenever he may consider it necessary. A proper and secure room to be providod for the Mails, and all Mails, excepting at Taranaki, to bo landed and shipped by and at the expense of the contractor. The days and hours of arrival and departure at and from the various ports to be fixed by the Postmaster-General, who shall also bave the power of detaining the vessels, if necessary, for forty-oight hours aftor the due dato of the San Francisco Mails at Auckland and Nelson, without charge ; for any further detention tho rate of demurrage per diem to be stated. Service No. 1 to commence at tho Manukau on the arrival of the Mail Stoamer Nevada at Auckland about the 22nd of Juno proximo ; and Servico No. 2 to commence at Nolson on the arrival of the steamer performing Service No. 1.
