May G.— The Court of High Commission has practically concluded their labors, and are now only awaiting the action of England, when the treaty will be submitted to the Cabinet. Conditions not definitely known. It is believed the Canadian fisheries rights, and navagation of the St. Lawerence will be conceded to America for a specified indemnity. No reciprocity treaty with Canada will be conceded by the United States. The Alabama claims will bo submitted to a special commission, and the claims of British subjects through acts of the rebel states be placed on the same footing. The question of the North West boundary, including the title to tho island of San Juan, is to be submitted to the arbitration of the Kings of Belgium and Italy and the President of Switzerland. The treaty will be signed on the 9th May. It is said that the temper of the Ame ricans is against the mode of the settlement of the Alabama claims. Mrs Laura D. Fair has been convicted of the murder of her late paromour, the Hon. Mr Crittenden, and it is probable that she will obtain a commutation of the sentence to imprisonment for life. The floods at New Orleans caused an immense loss of sugar. Bandmann was badly received at Virginia city.
