PATENT for an Invention for providing a readier and more rapid means for shifting stones, forkings, tailings, gravel, mullock, and other earthy or stony particles necessary to be separated in alluvial gold or other metallic workings where sluicing operations are carried ° n This is to notify that JOHN GRAY, of Hokitika, in the County of Wotland, New Zealand, Minor, did on the twenty-fourth day of February deposit at tho office of the Patent Officer, in tho Colonial Secretary's Office in Wellington, a specification or instrument, in writing, under his hand and seal, particularly describing and ascertaining tho nature of the said Invention, and in what manner the same is to bo performed, and that by reason of such deposit tlio said Inventor is protected and secured to him exclusively for thetorm of six calendar months thence next ensuing. And I do further notify that tho said John Gray has given notice, in writing, at my office of his intention to proceed with his application for Letters Patent for the said Invention, nnd that I have appointed Friday, the fourth diiy of August next, at ten o'clock in the forenoon, at my office, to hear and consider the said application and all objections thereto ; and I do hereby require all persons having an interest in opposing the grant of such Letters Patent to leave, on or before tlio thirty- first day of July, at my office in Wellington, particulars, in writing, of their objections to tho suid application, otherwise they will be prevented from urging tho same.
