Meleoorne.— The "Argus" of the 29th ult reports : — Much interest was evinced in tho result of the auction sale of Adelaide wheat which was to bo offered this forenoon ; some 12,000 bushels were to have been disposed of. Only 100 bags, for which tis 9d was got, were howover, allowed to be sold, tho rest being withdrawn. Oats are very dull, but we hear of some 5,000 bushels having changed hands, in parcels, at prices ranging from 3s 4d to 3s 7d. Maize is firm at 3s lld to 4s, but the .market being bare of supplies, there is no business doing. Rico still continues in favor; further sales of the Anna's cargo of Patnaare reported, but largo transactions are still under negotiation. The sale of a line of 500 boxes Brandon's candles has been made at lOJd. A shipment of tin plates has been placed at 20 per cent advance on invoice. A gradually improving feeling is springing up in sugar, notwithstanding the quantity which importers are placing on tho market. The damaged portion of the Corinno's cargo, consisting of 1,349 bags of Mauritius, was cleared off this forenoon at fair prices, condition considered. We understand that tho entire cargo of the Pacific, comprising 6,600 bags, will bo submitted to public competition on Monday. In liquids, we observe the disposal of 1,500 cases Machen's stout, which found buyers at prises rising to 9s lj-d. French brandy was at same time quitted at from 4s 6d to 6s 7£d.
