Bull's Machink. — The Royal Standard parcel, some 20 tons, has been finished, and yielded poorly — about 7dwt the ton.
Imperial Prince. — A trial crushing of ten tons was completed to-day at the "Waiotahi Association machine, and turned out 50oz of gold. Several leaders were also cut in the 00- feet level, which are to be tested separately They are scarcely expected to be payable.
Gladstone Company. — At a meeting of directors held last evening, Mr John Goodall in the chair, it was decided to make a Is call, and when that became due, to summon each defaulting sharebolder. The proceeds of the call are to be devoted to putting a main drive on the Golden Age reef, right through the chum, commencing where the lode v/iXB left in the Golden Age Company's ground.
Caledonian. — During the last day or two rumors of a new discovery in this mine have much disturbed the peace of mind of speculators and others, but lioihitig definite wns ascertained concerning it until this morning. The something is not a, n.:w leader us first
supposed, but an extension of gold in the main reef towards the N.E. This Mr Rowe tells me. In the report I gave of this mine a fortnight ogo, it was stated that the eastern line of the shot of gold inclined in this direction, but I omitted to say that a drive had been opened this way along the lode to see how fat the gold extended. According to Mr Rowe's statement this drive has been driven 20ft., the result being that the reef, which was at first hard and hungry, has undergone a marked change for the better, and shows gold plentifully. A lot of beautiful specimens were taken out of the lode at the end of the drive last night.
