Lottelton : 2nd, 10.30 a.m.— Taranaki, from Wellington. The B.s. Rangitira, Captuin Benner, left the •wharf at Dunedin at 8 p.m., on the 27th, nnd cleared Port Chalmers heads at 9 a.m., on the 28tl^; arrived at Timavu at 9 p.m., on the same day ; left at 6 p.m., on the 29th. and and arrived at Ljfctelton at 10.45 a.m., on the 30th; left Lyttelton at 6 p.m. Ist May; arrived last night, at 6p m. Fine weather tvasjesperienced throughout the passage. We are indebted to the purser fer files. She is advertised to leave for Napier this day. The s.s. Omeo, Captain Calder, will be due here on Thursday, the 4th inst., and sail for Melbourne the same day, via the West Coa3fc. The barque Heversham is rapidly dipcharging her cargo of coals alongside the Queen's Wharf, and sails for Newcastle early next •week. The s.s. Phoebe is duo here on Saturday next, from Manuka^," and is under contract ■with the Government to bring on the Taranaki, Kelson, and Picton portion of the European mail per Nevada. She will proceed to Lyttelton and Ofago on Monday, and will be docked on her arrival at Port Chalmers. The s.s. Aburiri will leave here on Friday afternoon, for Nelson, via Wauginui, and will be placed on the hard at Nelson, for cleaning and painting. She will return to Wellington from Nelson, and will collect the outward English mails from Picton, Nelson, and Taranaki, for transhipmeat to the Nevada, at Auckland. The s.s. Wellington, Captain Kennedy, is SQOW rapidly getting ready for sea, and will leave for Otago direct on Thursday nexfc. She •will be placed in the dock at Port Chalmers, for the purpose of being cleaned and painted, and will then he placed in the East Coast service, calling at all the ports between Otago and Auckland. We shall be glad to see this Tesßel on active service again ; and, under bo popular a commander aB Captain Kennedy, we have no doubt she will be a favorite boat for passengers. The s.s. Taranaki arrived at Lyttelton yesterday morning, at 10.30 a.m., and left same day, at 1 p.m., for Port Chalmers. The ship England has now on board about 1000 bales wool, and there is a considerable quantity engaged and in hand for her ; she has also about 150 tons of tallow aboard, and will probably take about 4000 balea of wool, skine, and flax. The ketch Glimpse brought in for the England a quantity of tallow, and will leave for the East Coast to-morrow. The schooner Shepherdesß is placed for Flaxborne and Kekoranga, and will leave today, weather permitting. TheLoehlee is now out 122 days. We understand she is a schooner ; and we hear she is for sale. She is engaged to Messrs Turnbull and Co.
