Any damage done to tho property of the Company will bo repaired by the Company at the expense of the consumer. Never enter tho room with a light where an escape of gas is suspected. In the event of an escape of gas in a room, extinguish all the lights, then endeavor by smell to find oub its whereabouts. White lead, bees' wax, putty, or soap, will stop the \ fissure till a gasfitter can be procured. } Accidents have sometimes occurred from the use of water slide pendants — when tho seal has not been sufficient, when they have been pulled too low, or from evaporation of the water. To prevent evaporation, a tea-spoon-ful of good salad oil should be added after the outer tube hns been filled with water. Such fittings should be pushed up when not : in use. ' When practicable, the main cock attached to tho service pipo should always be turned off during tho night, thuß excluding the gas from the premises, but, before doing this, the whole of tho burner cocks should be turned off.
