The Governor was enthusiastically received here 10-day by a pro. cession, consisting of volunteers, fire b.iigades, the frendly societies, inouiued citizens, nnd school children. An address was presented by the Borough Council, and also one by the frier illy societies. A royal .salute was fired. The Governor made a humorous speech from tho balcony of the hotel A levee was held. There is to be a concert to-night, and a ball to-morrow. Hokitika, 18th April The Governor has just left for Greymouth. Seven hundred children from the Hokitika schools assembled in front of Government House, accompanied by the band, and sang the National Anthem ; their teachers presented ad dresses. All denominations were reprepresented, and a large concourse of adults were present. The reception at Ross yesterday was excellent ; Odd Follows, Foresters, Hi bernian Society, and citizens turned out to a man. Mis Excellency leaves a xery favorable impression upon all classes of the citizens here. Nelson, Tuesday. The daily •' Nelson Examiner" published its last number to-day. It will henceforth be a weekly.
