PROGRESS OF BUSINESS.
On the motion of the Provincial Solicitor, Orders of the Day 6 and 7 — Special Settlements Bill and the Waste Lands Occupation Rental Bill— were discbared from tho Order Paper. Orders of the Day 3 and s—the5 — the adjourned debate on address in reply, and the District Highways Bill — were then made Orders of the Day for to-morrow. Orders of the Day 6 and 7 were discharged from the Order Paper. Order of the Day S— the election of a clerk for the Council — was made an Order of the Day for to-morrow. EDUCATION. Mr TAYLOR asked for loave, without notice, to introduce an Education Bill to amend the School Act. What he asked was that the |L, Amendment Act of 1869 might be revised, so a compulsory rate of £1 per house bo levied. The bill was read a first time, ordered to bo printed, the second reading being mado au Order of the Day for to-morrow. The Council then adjourned till 7 o'clock to-morrow.
