I NOTICE. mHE Committee acting for RICHMOND and TRAVERS beg most distinctly to deny the^statement contained in the Independent and " Advertiser" of this morning, that they have interfered in the provincial election now going on. The whole of the paragraphs referred to are a fabrication from beginning to end, and wili only tend to convince the public generally to whafc slanderous accusations fche above papers are capable of resorting when it suits fcheir purpose or thoir interest. Croft as a member of the Provincial Council, we desire to state thafc we do nofc believe such to be the case, and that this statement has evidently heen purposely circulated with the object of damaging ourselves and the committee, in the estimation of the electors of the city of Wellington.
