Shipping Notices, fHE UNITED STATES, NEW ZEALAND AND AUSTRALASIAN STEAM PACKET LINE. nnHE Norfca Pacific Transportation Company JL of San E\nncißCO having entered into a contract with the Honorable the Postmaster of BTew Zealand for the conveyance of mails between San Francisco, Honolulu, Fiji, Auckland, Wellington, Lyttleton, and Port dialsaers, and vice verea, the dates of sailing will be from Port Chalmers on the Ist and from Auck- J land on the 7th of every month, to commence | from Port Chnltnera on tho Ist of April next. The services will be performed by the powerfol aide-wheeled steamers the NEBRASKA, 2143, tons Register, NEVADA, 2142 tons Register, D A C O T A H , 2153 tons Register, all built in 1865 under ofllcinl supervision, and classed extra Al at- American Lloyd*. For passenger accommodation, those vessels | are unsurpassed by any afloat. Perfect ar- { rangements have, been made to connect with the Pacific Railway, and with the magnificent j lines of steamers running between New York and England. Passengers will be booked right through. First-class fares from all ports in New Zpaland to England, including the use of the celebrated Silver Palace Cars over tho American Continent, will not exceed £85. Second and third-class passengers will be taken at proportionately low rates. Return tickets at a reduced rate will be issued, and passengerß will be allowed, to remain over at any and all ports and stations called at. The contract time between San FrancißCO and Auckland, and vice versa, is 24 days. Passengers who may desire to proceed light through will reach England within 40 days from Auckland. Every exertion will be made to make this the popular passenger route. Arrangements will bo made to connect in New Zealand with the intercolonial steamers, bo that Australasian pajsengers may be conveyed right through at a alight increase upon the New Zealund rates.
