(3-eneral D'Aurello de Puladines, who was placed upon the retired list some eighteen months since, is in his sixty seventh year. Notwithstanding his age he is in robust health, and is well known in the army for his activity and energy, which are to 6ome extent evidenced by the Buccees ot' his efforts in restoring and establishing discipline in his army. He was educated at the military school, and speedily otained his epaulettes. He was for a lon<» time a commandant of a buttalton of the 6<kh Regiment of the line. In 1853 he was engaged in the Crimean war, and, leaving France a general of brigade, ho soon won his promotion to the rank of general of division, in -which capacity he commuuded one of the best bodies of infantry engaged at the seige of Sebastopol. After his return he to France he whb for several years in command of tbe military division of Marseilles; and when the Italian war broke out in 1859, his euro and assiduity in this locality contributed in no small degree to the regular despatch of the numerous parties and trains which were sent to Genoa and the Italian peninsular. For the two years previous to his being placed on the retired list he held a commund in the east of France, and in recompense of his long services he received on the above mentioned occasion the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honor. On the declaration of war with Prussia the General offered his services to the Government. He is, it is suid, an admirable commander of young troops, being of the most determined firaineßS, strictly just, and remarkably prudent.
