UNITED STATES, NEW ZEALAND V ANl> AITSTRAL kSLUS STEAM PACKET LINEfiIHE NortM Pacific Transportation Company JL . of 'San Fvuadsco Having entered into a contract with the Honorable the Postmaster of Kew Zealand for the conveyance of mails between San Francisco, Honolulu, Fiji, Auck J land, Wellington, Lytfleton, and Port Chalmers, and vice versa, the dates of sailing will be from Port Chalmers on the lot and from Auckland on the 7th of every month, to commence from Pori Chalmers on the Ist of April next. The services will be performed by the powerful side-wheeled steamers the NEBRASKA, 2143, tons Regiater, N. E V AD A , 2142 tons Register, D A C O T A H , 2153 tons Register, all built in 1865 under official supervision, and classed extra Al at American Lloyd j. For passenger accommodation, these vessels are unsurpassed by any afloat. Perfect arrangements have been made to connect with the Pacific Railway, and with the magnificent lines of steamers running between New York and England. Passengers will be booked right through. First-class fares from all ports in New Zealand to England, including the use of the celebrated Silver Palace Cars over the American Continent, will not exceed £85. Second and third-class passengers will be taken at proportionately low rates. Return tickets it a reduced rate will be' issued, and passengers will be allowed to remain over at any and ell ports and stations called at. The contract time between San Francisco and Auckland, and vice versa, is 24 days. Passengers who may ' deßjre to proceed right through will reach England within 40 days from Auckland. Every exertion will be made to make this the popular . passenger route. Arrangements will be made to connect in . Few Zealand with the intercolonial steamers, to that Australasian passengers may be conveyed right through at a Blight increase upon the New Zealand rates.
