A Shipping ffotices. THE UNITED STATES, NEW ZEALAND AND AUSTRALASIAN STEAM PACKET LINE. THE Nortid Jfaoific Transportation Company of San Fiancisco having entered into a contract with the Honorable the Postmaster of New Zealand for the conveyance of mails between San Francisco, Honolulu, Fiji, Auckland, Wellington, Lyttleton, and Port Chalmers, and vice versa, the dates of sailing will be from Port Chalmers on the Ist and from Auckland on the 7th of every month, to commence from Porfc Chalmers on the lßt of April next. The services will be performed by the powerful side-wheoled steamers the NEBRASKA, 2143, tons Register, NEVADA, 2142 tons Register, DACOTAH, 2153 tons Rpgister, all built in 1865 under official supervision, and classed extra Al at American Lloyds. For passenger accommodation, these vessels are unsurpassed by any afloat. Perfect arrangements have been made to connect with fche Pacific Railway, and with fche magnificent lines of steamers running between New York and England. Passengers will be booked right through. First-class fares from all ports in New Zealand to England, including the use of fche celebrated Silver Palace Cars over the American Continent, will not exceed £85. Second and third-class passengers will bo taken at proportionately low rates. Return tickets at a reduced rate will be issued, and passen-' gers will be allowed to remain over at any and all ports and stations called at. The contract time between San Francisco and Auckland, and vice versa, is 24 days. Passengers who may desire to proceed right through will reach England within 40 days from Auckland. Every exertion will bo made to make this the popular passenger route. Arrangements will be made to connect in New Zealand with tbe intercolonial steamers, so that Australasian passengers may be conveyed right througli at a slight increase upon fche New Zealand rates.
