Jano Asbridge, charged with being drunk and incapable, denied the unladylike offeaoe, and eaid she was merely resting herself on Mr Quin's steps. Tbe records of the Court showed that Jane was a periodical frequenter of the Court, but as she pleaded bard for clemency, eho was let off with tbe minimum fine of ss. Mary Lazary, charged with being drunk and diserderly about one o'clock that morning. The police gave this frail female a very bad character also, and she was fined 10s or 48 hours in gaol in default. Charles Williams pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly about half past one that morning.. As he was a stranger in the town, ho was dismissed with a caution. Wm. Smith and Mary Smith were charged with drunkennss. Wm. Smith .admitted the charge, but his wife denied the impeachment. The arresting constable said he had found both Smith and his wife very drunk that morning about one o'clock, and that they had attracted a number of people, who were making a great disturbance. Mrs Smith explained that she was subject to " sterricks," and that the disturbance was-causedbyanother person, whohad roused her out of bed by knocking at the door. Even for this respectable couple the police had not a good word to say, and had relentlessly extracted similar charges from the recordß of the Court.
