1 Auctions. TUESDAY, Ist DECEMBER, 1868. CASTLE POINT SHEEP STATION. MESSRB BETHUNE & HUNTER will offer for sale by public auction, at the Exchange, on Tuesday, tho Ist December, 1868, at 2 o'clock, if not previously sold by private contract. That very valuable Run, known as the Castle Point Station, situated at n distance of 100 miles from tho city of Wellington, on the main road to Napier and Auckland, containing upwards of 20,000 acres of land ; 12,000 freehold, the reI mainder held under a Government license; bounded on the east side by the sea, having a frontage of fully six miles along the coast, tho south side adjoins the run occupied by the Rev. J. C. Andrew, and is completely enclosed by a strong six and seven wire fenco, the west side is bounded by tho Whareania River, and tho north Bide by tho Tinui River and a native reserve. Castle Point is the only port on tho East Coast between Wellington and Napier, it forms an excellont hnrbor of refuge, as vessels can run in and lie at anchor in bad weather ; goods can always be landed ; last season about 400 bales of wool were shipped. There is a splendid site for an extensive town, which might easily be laid out, i and also a considerable extent of valuable land, well adapted for suburban sections, arrangements have already been made for reserving eligible sites for a church, schoolhouso, parsonage.and cemetery, and a telegraph office has just been erected. There is a considerable population in the district, which is increasing rapidly. Castle Point is the most convenient outlet for the settlers recently located at tho Moroa farm settlomont. Tho buildings attached to the station comprise a very largo and commodious well built dwelling house, 44x32, containing dining room, parlour, seven good bedrooms, storeroom, and large kitchen ; cottage, 24x18, containing three rooms for overseer ; house, 28x19, containing five rooms for farm servants ; large and convenient woolshcd, 68x15, with wool-press and shearing-pen ; storehouse, 15x11 ; dairy ; bakehouso ; butcher's shop ; barn, 46x17 : stable, 47x17 ; containing six stalls and three loose-boxes j cow-shod j calves-house and cart-shed, 24x16 ; fowl-house ; pig-styes ; boat-house ; large nnd well arranged stockyard. All the buildings have been erected in the most substantial manner, and are in an excellent state of repair. Thoro are about fifty acres of land in close proximity to the principal dweMing-house, enclosed and divided up into an orchard well stocked "with valuable fruit trees, kitchen and flower garden, and five convenient paddocks, which have all been thoroughly ploughed up and laid down in English grasses. There is also situated at sorno distance from tho before mentioned block of buildings : — One largo House, 34x26, occupied as nn Hotel, with Dwelling Houso, 31x12, attached, containing eleven rooms. One largo Building, 32x15, occupied as a General Retail Store and Dwelling House, containing shop and four rooms. One Building, 68x16, usod as a Wool-storo and Stable; tho first mimed capablo of containing 200 bales of wool. One Building, 21x14, used as a Blacksmith's Shop. Ono Building, 32x14, usod as a Boat-shed. * A Block of Laud containing about 1800 acres, ! situated ot one end of the Run, has been enclosed ; with a substantial post nnd four rail fence, and a good dwelling houso containing six rooms, cottage for mon, cow-shed, stockyard erected thereon, and two paddocks ploughed up. Sheep, catfclo, horses, farm implements, household furniture, store?, boats, and a great variety of articles can be taken at a valuation. A portion o( tho purchase money may remain on mortgage for a term of years at tho ordinary rate of interest. Tho farm of 1,800 acres, the hotel, retail store, smith's shop, and boat-shed, aro all let to respectable tenants, and produce a fair annual rental. The station can bo examined at any time on application to tho owner, Mr Thomas Guthrie, who resides on it, and will bo happy to accommodate intending purchasers, shew them all over it, and afford tho fullest information.
