THE Telegraph Commissioner is prepared to receive tenders for the erection of a Post and Telegraph Office afc Napier. Each tender must bo accompanied by a deposit of twenty-five pounds sterling as a guarantee of good faith, which deposit will be forfeited by any 1 tenderer if, in the event of his tender being accepted, he refuse to take up tho contract. Each tender must include the names ef two sureties for approval, who arc willing to become bond for the due performance of the work in the event of the tender being accepted, and must be accompanied by a notification to that effect signed by the sureties. Plans and specifications can be seen, and all information obtained, at the Telegraph Office, Wellington, or at the office of the Provincial Engineer, Napier. Tenders endorsed " Tenders for erection of a Post and Telegraph Office," and addressed "Tho General Manager, Telegraph Office, Wellington," to he sent in not later than tho 13th day of June, 1868. THE TELEGRAPH COMMISSIONER is prepared to receive tenders for the supply and delivery of one thousand (1000) poles, more or less, for a line of Telegraph to be constructed between Napier (commencing afc tho North Spit) and Wairoa, both in tho Province of Hawke's Bay. Tho poles to be sawn from the heart of totavft. The poles to bo of the following length : — i A few forty (10) feet long, twenty-four (24) inches squaro at the butt, and eight (8) inches at ! the top. A few thirty-five (35) feet long, eighteen (18) inches square afc the butt, and eight (8) inches square afc the top. A few twenty-five (25) feet long, eight (8) inches square afc tho butt, and six (6) inches squaro afc the top. The major portion to be twenty (20) feet long eight (8) inches square at the butt, and six (6) inches square afc the top. The poles to be sound, straight and free from sap. N.B. — No poles will bo accepted that contain the least sap. Tho poles to be delivered afc points and dis- ' lances hereafter to be indicated along tho present bridlo track from Napiev to Wairoa. Tenders are to specify the prico per polo as per sizes given. Each tender must, bo accompanied by a deposit of twenty-five pounds (£25) as a guarantee of good faith, which sum will be forfeited should i any tenderer refuse to sign the contract in the event of the tender being accepted. Each tender must include the names of two (2) sureties for approval, who are willing to become bond for the due performance of the contract, in the event of the tender being accepted, and must be accompanied by a notification to that effect signed by the proposed sureties.
