Bootless now our expectation, Tho' our loyal hearts bo full, Hope that Hushed an infant nation Pales beneath .Fate's bitter rule, Not coining, not coming, Sailed -away. For Victoria's son .uprising On him ull welcome to bestow. Hark ! our straining ears surprising Burst upon us words q£woe, Not coming, not coming, Alfred's away. Yot if distant, homeward bounding, Our sailor Prince now ploughs the main j Ten thousand voices loud resounding Cry " may he come out again," Tho' gone away.
