EARLY CLOSING.
(TO THE EDITOE OF THE INnEPENDENT.) SrR, — I beg, through the medium of your paper, to suggest to tho business community the advisability of introducing the early closing system on Saturday — say at one or two o'clock. This is curried out in roost of the large towns in tho other colonies. It would bo well, if introduced here, for various reasons; and as the majority of tho employees in the various places of bueiness belong to the Volunteer Corps, it would be well if all special and general parades | were made to take place on that day, when sill could invariably attend. Trusting that an abler pen will take such an important matter up, and apologising for trespassing so much on your valu able space, — I am, &c, Non Nodis Siro atjls.
