Government Notices. (TEMPORARY.) NEW ZEALAND INTERPROVINCIAL MAIL SERVICES. NOTICE is hereby given that tenders will be received at this office until Friday, the 29th of November next, for tho performance of the undermentioned Steam Mail Services, according to timo table, which may be seen at this oflico, and for the periods specified :— 1. From Auckland to Port Chalmers, calling at Tauranga, Napier, Wollington, and Lyttelton ; this service to commence from Auckland on the 12th December, 1867, and to terminate at Port Chalmers on the 19th of January, 1868. 2. From Wellington to the Bluff and back, calling at Lyttelton and Port Chalmers ; this service to commenco from Wellington on the 23rd of December, 1867, and to terminate at the Bluff on tho 27th of. January, 1868. 3. From Wellington to Auckland, calling at Napier and Tauranga ; tbis service to commence from Wellington on the 28th of December, 1867, nnd to terminate at Auckland on the 2nd of February, 1868. All mails to be landed, shipped, and transhipped by and at the expense of the contractor. A proper and secure room to be provided for ' the safe custody of tho mails. A chief cabin passage, free of cost, to be pro- ; vided, if required, for a postal officer. Tho names, tonnage, and horse-power of the vessels proposed to be employed in theso services to be stated, and the vessels to bo approved by tho Postmaster-General, and subject to bo surveyed by some person appointed by him whenever he may consider it necessary. The Postmaster-General to have the power of detaining tho vessels at any port for twenty-four hours without charge ; the rate of demurrage per diem for any further detention to bo stated. Tenders to state tho rato per diem or otherwise for passages for officers of the Genoral Government, exclusive of wines, spirits, &c.
