dkunkbxness. Denis O'Leary admitted the offence of drunkenness, with which he was charged by Constable Wilson, and was fined 5s and costs. Arthur Brown, a respectable looking man, was brought up on a charge of drunkenness, preferred against him by Constable Burke. Defendant said he knew nothing about tho matter, but as the evidence of the constable proved his guilt vory clearly, the Bench fined him 20s and costs, or in default, 48 hours' imprisonment with hard labor. CIVIL. J. Hughes v E. Hackutt—This was an action brought to recover the sum of £6 5s 6d, for engraving done at the order of defendant's son. Mr E. lVurce appeared as attorney fov the ! defendant, and disputed" the account on the \ ground that the goods supplied were not accordj ing to order, the main objection being that the J billheads, &c, wore lithographed, instoad of being copperplate. Tho only evidence called by dofenchnfc was plaintiff himself, who persisted, when '.repeatedly asked if a certain billhead was lithoJ graphed or not, in saying that it was a transfer j from, a copperplate, and was pi-intcd in the j usual mode; and as there was nothing to show .
