Government Notices. TO CONTRACTORS. * fgIHE Telegraph Commissioner is prepared to ! JL receive Tenders for the supply and delivery of four thousand (i,000) Telegraph Arms, as 1 follows : — The Arms to be cut from the heart of Black Birch or Rata. Tho Arms to be delivered at the Telegraph Store, Wellington. The Arms to be twenty-seven inches in length, two and a half inches wide, and two and a quarter . inches thick, that is, 2^ x2^ inches. Tho Arms to be bored for bolts and insulators, with a five-eighth auger, as per pattern, being one hole in centre, through the greatest dopth of wood, and two holes, one at eacli end of Arm, through the least thickness of wood. The Arms to be rounded for carrying off water, as per pattern. The whole of tho Arms to be delivered within thirty days of signing the contract. Each Tomlor must state the price for Black Birch, and of Rata Arms, distinctly. Each Tender must be accompanied by a deposit of £10, as a guarantee of pood faith, which sum will be forfeited should any Tenderer refuse to sign the contract, in the event of his Tender being i accepted. The usual sureties will be required of tho accepted Tenderer. Patterns can be seen, and further particulars obtained at the Telegraph Offices, Wellington. Tenders addressed — "Tho Telegraph Engineer, Wellington," and endorsed — " Tenders for Four Thousand Telegraph Arms," to be senb in not later than Friday, the Ist of November next, at noon. NEW ZEALAND INTERPROVINCIAL MAIL SERVICES. ■VTOTICE is hereby given that tenders will be Xi received at this office until Friday, the 29th of November next, for tho performance of the undermentioned S Jsam Mail Services, accord- j ing to time table, which may be aeon at this j office, and for the periods specified : — 1. From Auckland to Port Chalmers, calling at Tauranga, Napier, Wellington, and Lyttelton ; this service to commence from Auckland on the 12th December, 1867, and to terminate at Port Chalmers on the 19th of January, 1868. 2. From Wellington to tho Bluff, calling at Lyttolton and Port Chalmers j this service to commence from Wellington on the 23rd of December, 1867, and to terminate at tho Bluff on the 27th of January, 1868. 3. From Wellington to Auckland, calling at Napier and Tauranga ; this service to commence from Wellington on tho 28th of December, 1867, nnd to terminate at Auckland on the 2nd of February, 1868. All mails to be landed, shipped, and transhipped by and at the expense of the contractor. A proper and secure room to bo provided for the safe custody of tho mails. A chief cabin passage, free of coat, to bo provided, if required, for a postal officer. Tho names, tonnage, and horse-power of the vessels propased te be employed in these services to be stated, and the vessels to bo approved by the Postmaster-General, and subject to be surveyed by some person appointed by him whenever ho may consider it necessary. The Postmaster-General to have tho power of detaining the vessels at any port for twenty-four hours without charge ; the rate of demurrage per diem for any further detention to be stated. Tenders to state the rate per diem or otherwise for passages for officers of the General Government, exclusive of wines, spirits, &c. "If any person shall for any purpose drive j cattle between tho hours of twelve noon and four , in tho afternoon between the thirty-first day |of March and the first day of September or between tho hours of twelve noon and six in the afternoon between the thirty-first day of August and tho first day of April through the town of Wellington he shall forfeit a sum not exceeding five shillings for each head of cattle so driven."
