TARANAKI.

OVEELAND MAIL TO PATEA. The Herald of the 31st ult. says:— We are very glad to be able to record thnt an overland mail to Patea and thence to Wanganui has been again started ; the first mail left town on Wednesday last, under the care of Hone Piharaa. We believe the thanka of Taranaki are due to Mr Booth, Resident Magistrate at Patea, for his exertions in the establishment of this mail service, which will, we have no doubt, be successfully kept -ap in future.
