Richmond to ask tho Honorable the Colonial Secretary, — If tho Government are aware that there are several inaccuracies in the names recorded on the stone tablet on the Wairau Monument, and what steps it is intended to take to have the mistakes ratified. Mr. Stevens to ask the Q-overnment, — Whether in the introduction of a new Pro ?inciai Audit Act it is the intention of Government to confer upon an officer, not being the Provincial Auditor, the powers of a Comptroller of Expenditure. M.t. FitzGerald to ask the Government, — Whether it is the intention of Government to bring in any Bill for declaring the law as to whether candidates for Gold Fields Constituencies for the Hoiiso of Eepresentatives or Provincial Councils are required to have their names upon any Electoral Roll in tho Colony. Further consideration in Committee of the whole House, of the question of leave being given to bring in a Bill to impose a duty on Bonded Warehouses. NOTICES OF MOTION. Mr. Hail to move, That there be laid on the Table a Return of any expenses paid through tho Crown Prosecutor at Canterbury, on account of the prosecution of Mr. R. D'Oyley, together with a statement of tho Public Account, if any, to which such payment has been charged. Mr. J. Cbaoeopt Wii-son, C.8., to move tho following resolution : — That in the opinion of this House the present want of uniformity prevailing in the Provinces in the matter of the admission or non-admission of " cattle, sheep, goats, horses, pigs, and poultry; and of hides, skins, horns, hoofs, and all other parts of suoli animals imported from Europe" is highly prejudicial to the welfare of the Colony of New Zealand, and that the importation of the above animals and articles from Europe under certain restrictions sufficient to eecure the Colony from any evil consequence* thertfrom is absolutely necessary.
