ARRIVAL OF THE SHIP COMMODORE FROM LONDON.
The fine Al clipper ship Commodore, 562 tons, W. Colville, E. r q., Commander, from London, arrived in this harbor at 1 o'clock yesterday afternoon, after an unusually quick and pleasant passage of 100 days. The Commodore left O-ravcdciid on the 4-t-li of October, nml arrived at Deal on ,tho following day. A capital easterly breeze favored the vim down channel, and the N.E. trades blew strong and favorable, so that the equator was crossed on the 6th November. Off the const of Brazil the Commodore was detained for four days by light contrary winds and calms. On the 2lst November spoke the ship British Crown in latitude 33 ° S., longitude 26 ° 37' W., forty days out from London bound to Madras. The meridian of fcho Capo was passed in latitude 42° 30' S., upon the 6th of December, and from there an excellent, passage of 30 days was made to the coast of New Zealand. The Commodore was off the Smircs on lhe sth of January, since which date she experienced light N.E. winds and calms. On Thursdry evening she was off the Heads, and came into this harbor yesterday afternoon. She ia consigned to Waring Taylor, Esq., and brings ten passengers und a miscellaneous cargo. One death occurred during the voyage, that of a child of six months old, named Feist, of dinrrhica and uca-sickness, on the 27th October. The O.S.N. Co.'s s.g Albion, Captain Kidney, from Nelson, Hokitika and Melbourne, arrived in this harbor ut 1.35 on Thursday afternoon. The Albion left Port Phillip Heads al; 11 a.ir. on tho 3rd inst., and experienced a fino and pleasant passage to Hokitika, where she arrived on the Bth at 11 a.m. Left again at 6 a.m. on tho 9th, and arrived nl Nelson at 3.15 the following morning ; left ngnin at 4.20 on Thursday morning, atid arrived as above. Tho N.Z.S.N. Company's b.s. Ladybird left Manakau at 4.30 a.m., Sunday, 7th, crossed tho bar at 6.30., arrived at Raglan at 1 p.m. same day ; left at 2 p.m., and arrived at Turanaki at G a.m. on Monday, the Bth ; left same day at 4 pan., and arrived off the bar, Wanganui, ufc 4 a.m. too late for the river ; crossod tho bar at 2 p.m. on the 9th ; left Wanganui afc 5 p.m. on tho 11th, and arrived at Wellington at 5.30 a.m. on the 12th. The three-masted schooner Amalin, Captain Tibbctts, from Lyttelton, arrived in this harbor on Thursday morning,- after an average passage. Tho Amalia left Lyttelton on the 6th inst., and experienced very scycyo weather and heavy N.W. | gales during the passage.
