J. M. TAYLOR & CO. Nov. 29, 1865. EX WILD WAVE FROM SYDNEY. i)(\/L SMALL BAGS BROWN JAVA SUGAR. LEVIN' & CO. Wellington, Nov. 30, 1865. TO THE ELECTOR OF RANGITIKEI. ri ENTLEMEN,— JJeIicving that the polipjwhieh I sunported_durvng the last Session of the Cren^ral Assembly, still'mccTs with your approval, I again place my services at your disposal. On all the great questions affecting the interests of the Colony, my opinions are suflicicntly known to render it unnecessai'y for me to say more., than that I have seen no reason to alter them. It is my intention to visit your district immediately after the issue of the writs, when I shall be happy to meet my constituents, for the purpose of explaining the past and stating my views as to the future. I remain, Gentleman, Your obedient servant, ROBERT PIIARAZYN. Wellington, December 28, ISGS. TO THE ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF WELLINGTON. fi ENTLEMEN,— I offer myself as a candidate v!T to represent you in the next General Assembly. Dr. Fcathcrston and Mr Taylor have stated that they do not intend to oiler themselves for reelection. I have for years been an active supporter of tho Radical party in Provincial politics, but I believe that men of all shades of Provincial politics can and ought for the future to unite in all-important questions affecting the general interests of this Province, and New Zealand as a whole. I consider that if anything can ruin the future of this country Separation would do so. I think the utmost economy should be exercised in the Government expenditure, but not so as to endanger our credit at home or abroad, I object to farther taxation if it can be avoided, and, if it cannot, I think the burden should be thrown more on the land and the sheep, than on tho industry of the majority of the people. I believe that what is commonly known as the Weld self-reliant policy, is the only honest policy for us to adopt in measures affecting the war, and more than that, I have faith in its future success, and consider that it is the cheapest and manliest way to terminate our difficulties. I think the lands of the rebels should be confiscated to bear the cost of the war, and that there should be no notion of peace until equal justice for the white man and the Maori can be secured. I shall be, of course, at all times ready to meet you in public, either to explain my views or to give an account of my conduct. 1 have, &c., Your's obediently, C. B.
