TARANAKI SHIPPING.
The Friends, which arrived yesterday from Sydney, has been 36 days on the passage, having encountered a succession of heavy gales from S. to S.W. She has been -within a short distance of the port these throe weeks. We regret to say that Captain Cook has lost the use of his eyesight, since leaving Sydney. — " Taranaki Herald," 24th ultimo.
