Paragraph 2. /■CANDIDATES belonging to the Town Cora\J panics of Militia and Volunteers, who intond to compete for the Provincial Government Prizes, can obtain 50 rounds of ammunition, free of cost, by applying at the Militia Office, between the hours of 10 and J2 a.m., commencing on Wednesday, the Bth inst, provided they bonafide undertake to practiso for the above firing. ELECTION OF SUPERINTENDENT OF THE PROVINCE OF WELLINGTON. IN pursuance of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled " The Provincial Election Act, 1858." I Charles Dudley Robert Ward, Esquire, principal Returning Officer for the Province of Wellington, do hereby give notice that by virtue of a writ, bearing date the sixteenth day of February, 1865, issued uuder the hand of hi 9 Excellency the Governor of New Zealand. An election will be held for the return of a qualified person to serve as Superintendent. for the Province of Wellington, and that the nomination of Candidates will take place at the Resident MagistrateVCourt, at Wellington, on Saturday the eighteenth day of March, 1865, at noon; and that the Poll (if necessary) will be taken on Friday, the twenty-fourth day of March, 1865. Should I therefore, not be present on the day of nomination for the election of Superintendent, you will I hope acquit me of any want of respect to those at whose hands I seek a renewal of the high trust so long confided to me.
