NEW ZEALAND GENERAL GOVERN MENT 8 PER CENT. DEBENTURES. BY ACT of the General Assembly of New Zealand, the Colonial Treasurer is authorised to raise TEMPORARY LOANS on Debentures (to be repaid out of money to be borrowed under the New Zealand Loan Act, 1863), with a currency of from ono to three years, bearing interest atthe rate of 8 per cent, per annum, payable half-yearly, on the Ist day of January, and the Ist day of July, in every year. Tho principal and interest will be mado payable at the Treasury, in Wellington, New Zealand ; at tho Oriental Bank, in Sydney or Melbourne; or at £the Bank of Zealand, in London, afc the option ofthe purchasers. Tenders will bo received until 12 o'clock, noon, on WEDNESDAY, the 22nd day of February, 1865, at the Bank of New Zealand, Wellington, for the purchase of of these Debentures, specifying tho total amount of Debentures required, and tho rate per cent which will be given for the same — to be addressed to the " Manager of tho Bank of Now Zealand, Wellington," with the words " Tender for New Zealand General Government 8 per cent. Debentures " written on tho outside. Tenders will be opened in the presence of the Colonial Treasurer and all persons interested, at 1 o'clock, p.m., at the Bank of New Zealand, Wellington, on WEDNESDAY, 22nd February, 1865. The highest bidders shall be deemed the purchasers, provided the prices are uot lower tban tho minimum placed in a sealed paper on tlie table before the Tenders are opened. Where Tenders are made upon the same terms, a pro rata distribution upon such Tenders will be made. Debentures wili be issued in such sums from Twenty pounds to One Thousand pounds, and of buch currency, from One to Three years, as the successful Tenderers may elect, — when thoso receiving allocation of Debentures, oi their Agents, will be required to state at which of the above places their principal and interest are to be payable. The Debentures contracted for will be delivered at the Bank of New Zealand, Wellington, on Wednesday tho Ist day of March next, between the hours of 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., upon payment of the amount duo thereon.
