Sturt, p.s., for Wanganui and Nelson The paddle steamer Prince Alfred, Captain Lawrenson, arrived in this harbor on Friday last, at midnight. She sailed from Wanganui on Sunday, the 13th inst, at 1 pm, with a cargo of cattle, and arrived at Lyttelton on Tuesday, at 8 am. Landed, her stock in first rate condition, having " lost none; and sailed again from Lyttelton for this port on Thursday, at 2 pm, arrivingjhere as above. | She experienced a heavy north-wester on her passage up, which was accomplished in 34 hours. The Prince Alfred is the same vessel that was wrecked off the Wanganui bar, about five months since. Her machinery is in I flrat class order, and she is about to placedontheN.Z.S.N. The Prince Alfred is a fine roomy ves3el, well adapted for carrying stock, being enabled to carry about 70 head in tho hold, and would no doubt do well in the southern cattle trade.
