CANTERBURY. MESSRS AIRMAN /ND WILSON'S REPORT. Stock — Since our last report we have to note a steady demand for stock of all descriptions. Among our recent sales we may mention the -following : — 216 stores, in weak condition, £8 10s per hoad ; 40 calves and yearlings, £4 10s; and several small l"-ta of str>rpn, from £P> to £10 per head ; 102 head provincial stores at £10 per head; 88 head weak and ptor, £8 10s per head. At our yards on Saturday last we sold by auction, ox Heron from Wanganui, 10 working bullocks, at £40 por pair ; 12 milch cows from £11 to £18 each; two year old fat steers, £17 17b each; young stook, in good condition, from £(i 12s to £12 each. Shaep— l36 store wothers, landed In poor condition, at 21s 6d per head. Youug ewes are much sought for, and ! wo havo several enquiries for station properties. Land— The demand for land iv Christchurch and neighbourhood still continues, and at advancing prices. The following are some of our more recent sales la 3r 22p towu reserves, Manchoster-street, for £1126; cottago and three-sixteenths of an acre of land Town Belt south for £275 ; half an acre towns* reserres, Gloucester-street eaat for £230 ; cottago and one-oight of an acre of town reserves, Ceshel-street, £300; half an acre and two cottages, Tuam-street, £600 ; 2 acres, part of rural section No 238, £205 ; 20 acres near Woodend. £200 ; 11 acres at Papanui, £220 ; licensed houso in Lyttelton, £3000. Timbor— At our recent sales prices havo ranged from 22s to 29s for boards and scantling; palings— Sft 255, and Gft, SOs per 100; shingles, 36s por 100.— Lyttelton Timet, 12th instant
