HENRY LEWIS. Hutt, June 17, 1863. DR. TOWNSEND'S SARSAPARILLA. THE great superiority of Dr. Towsend's compound fluid extract of Sarsaparilla is to be found in its extraordinary and almost miraculous effects upon the Blood. Every one knows that health or disease depends directly upon the state of this vital fluid , this must be the case, from the important part it plays in the animal economy. J The amount of blood in a man of middle size, is estimated by the best authorities to be about twentyeight pounds. At each pulsation two ounces are driven from the heurt to the lungs; and hence all the blood in the human body passes through the system in less time than four minutes. An extensive arrangement of vessels has been formed with admirable wisdom, designed to distribute and circulate this life stream through all parts of the organization. A torrent is thus kept rushing and coursing through the body, which is the grand fountain of either health or disease. If the blood becomes, from auy cause, impregnated with putresceut or fetid matters, it diffuses the taint with elec- ' trie velocity to the remotest and minutest portions of the body. The poison is dashed and churned buckward snd forward through arteries, veins, aud capillary vessels, until every organ and tissue becomes completely saturated and disordered. The circulation is thus seen to become a powerful engiue of disease. But it may also act with equal power ' for the creation of health. Suppose the body to become infected with some malignant disease either local or general, and seated in either the nervous, tho glandular, or the muscular system — if the blood can only be made pure and healthy, it will overcome the complaint, and inevitably expel it ftom the con- > stitution. The great source of disease is hence seen to re- , side in the circulating fluid ; aud no medicine that i dous not act directly upon it, to purify and to renovate, has any just claim upon public attention. The above in quart bottles may be had in any . quantity from ftlr 0. I). Baruaud, Lambton-quay; und Messrs. Oweii Bros., Manners-street. July 10, 1808. \ NOTICE.
