The results of tbe recent military operations produced feelings of great dissatisfacliou throughout the North. A sanguinary battle has taken glace between Grant and Peinberton. Neither side able to claim victory. Vicksburg reported to have been evacuated, but this is doubtful. An unsuccessful attack ha 9 been made on Fort Hudson. General Hooker is withdrawing his array in the Potomac. The invasion of Maryland anticipated. The Confederates have again invaded Kentucky. , — - » —
