The LATE Mimtaby/ Obtbagb.' — In .connection with the recent examination before the Resident Magistrate of ono of the soldiers concerned in this outrage, we have been requeated to publish tba following statement :—" Mr Curtis, 2nd Battalion 14th Regiment, attended tat the Resident Magistrate's Court on Saturday to explain in the presence of William Harris, private of Police, what was the statement made by him to Harris when the latter complained to him of the conduct of the eoldiejs on the night of the 6th inst., viz., that as he, (Mr Curtis), was in jolai* clothes the Boldiers might not know him from a civilian, and that they would not pay any attention whatever to what he said, and that he might he served by them in the same m.inner that Harris had said he had been served. Harris expressed his regret if he had said anything prejudicial to the character of Mr Curtis. . . Poussard and Douat's Congest. — We wish again to call the attention of our readers to the Concert of these avtistes which takes place this evening in the Odd Fellows Hall. Mons. Douay'a health is still in rather an uncertain condition, and for that reason his name has been omitted from' the programme, but whether he appears or not the Concert will undoubtedly take place, and we have every hope that the music loving portion of the public will 'be gratified by hearing his inimitable performance. Sale of Property.. — Mr Homer sold yesterday those premises in Willis-street, known as Port's Grocery Establishment. The building and ground on which it stands were purchased for £400 by ', Mr John Martin.
