(Up to the present time, we have no absolute certainty as to whether or not the English maU was on board the . Aldinga, when she arrived at Fort Chalmers last Saturday morning, and much anxiety and annoyance is felt in consequence by mercantile men. It is needlesß to speculate on the matter at present as the arrival either of the Lord Ashley or Lady Bird is hourly expected. Should thiß occur before we go to press, we will publish the lateßt intelligence, both commercial and general, in our present issue. There is nothing fresh to report during the past week, business continues quiet, and prices of imported goods show a tendency to rise. Colonial Produce.—Butter, holders are firm at Is 9d per lb. Bacon, none in market. Potatoes are quoted at £8 per ton. Flour, there has been an arrival of a cargo of wheat during the week for Messrs J. and T. Kebbell's millß from Adelaide direct Fine flour iB quoted at from £1510 ato £1610s. Mr J. H. Wallace sold hy public auotion at his Land Mart, Lambton-quay, on Thursday, May 21,1863, the following properties. Haining-street, lot, No 1,15s per foot; lot, No 3,15s per foot, bought by Mr Hughes. Town acre, No 118, £600, bought by Mr Bragg. Ghuznee-street, land and dwelling house in the occupation of Mr. S. Furness, lot 3 and 4, £600, bought by J. Minifie. Ghuznee and Taranaki-streets, lot 1, bought by J. Minifie for £800. Ghuznee-street, lot 2, biiught by J. Minifie for £80. Scrip, 25 acres purchased by R. Walsh for 10s an acre. Messrs Duncan & Vennell sold on "Wednesday last for Mesßrs Johnston & Co, a variety of goods for which the following prices were realised:—Negrohead tobacco, 4s to 4s lOd per Ibjwoodrows, 10tt» boxes, at ls 4d perlb; cigars, 55s per 1000; sherry in hhds, 7s per gallon; Belmont sperm candles, ls 3d per lb; Belmont candles, Is ld per Ib; Neva candles, ls ld per lb; and a quantity of boots at a fair margin above invoice prices. 1
